HOW THE 36TH AMERICA’S CUP SHOULD BE STAGED IN AUCKLAND!

The America’s Cup is the pre-eminent international spectacle of boatmanship, so why should its architecture remain landlocked?

Embracing the same desire for radical innovation as that evident in the Emirates Team NZ boat, we wish to revolutionise nautical spectatorship. This is the Royal NZ Yacht Squadron leading the development of naval architecture. By re-cycling an offshore platform, NZ once again demonstrates global innovation through a sustainable yet memorable ‘stadium-on-the sea’ experience!

The ACC36 Platform offers the proximity of a chartered yacht but with better elevation and all the luxuries found on land. Fuller Ferries dock onto Pirelli pontoons, leading you to glazed elevators that rise up through hotel panoramas, liquid bars, kiwi seafood eateries, and, of course, a helipad for those that move in slippers.  The #ACC36 Platform can be anchored anywhere: closer to the racecourse or closer to port. And why just one? Why not starting and finishing platforms? Or, even better, one per team?
